Installing a solar system within Miami – Dade County where the wind requirements are the strictest in the country. The roof consisted of a concrete deck with installation on top and rock at the surface, which made weather proofing a challenge.
For the wind requirements we utilized a racking system that is rated for a sustained wind at 150 mph and gusts rated at 175 mph for 7 seconds.
For weather proofing we utilized a system of scraping the roof and curb kits to maintain a water tight condition.
We worked around the clock once the permit was issued to met the Grand Opening of Earth Friendlies newest facility and finished the project ahead of schedule and under budget.
Earth Friendly Products are off-setting 65% of their electricity bill and are excited that the system is performing above expectations. Also, since the installation, tropical storms and hurricanes have come through the area and the system performed as expected without leaking or having wind damage.
