Complete our first large scale utility project on time, under budget, and manage the expanded scope that would be new for a majority of our crews. At the time, most of our crews were accustomed to roof mounted commercial systems in urban to sub-urban environments and at service voltages under 600. This project presented underground electrical, 15 kV interconnection, single axis trackers, electrical pad construction, concrete, and other infrastructure build-outs that only a few of our key staff had experience with. The project site didn’t even have water, electricity, communication, or sewage.
The beginning of the project required working with the civil subcontractor to coordinate our underground electrical and racking installation. Daily meetings and project coordination were critical so that trackers could be installed while pile driving continued to minimize down-time and interruptions. The electrical build-out required low voltage DC (under 1000VDC), medium voltage to the utility at 14.5kV, equipment pad construction and installation of inverters, transformers and switchgears. Additional work also include the telecommunications underground and infrastructure with AT&T. Our in-house crews minimized unnecessary cost mark-ups to our customers.
Progressive Power Group met or exceeded all our obligations and installation timelines. Their customer service, attention to detail, and competitive price gave us comfort and satisfaction throughout the construction process.
