The Challenge

Installing Solar System to met LEED requirements, while incorporationg a new Cool Roof and working around obstructions such as air conditioning units, large crickets and tall parapets.

Our customer, Vons Credit Union, also wanted to incorporate a carport structure to provide shade during the hot summer and to utilize the structure with Solar.

VCU desired a maximum output in the allocated space.

Our Solution

Progressive Power Group designed a customer system to work around the air conditioning units, crickets, parapets and other obstructions on the roof to achieve the desired system size for VCU. The system consists of 280 Sharp ND-U216F1 Solar Modules (Roof).

We designed and built a custom carport structure with solar on top to provide shade and electricity. The carport solar system was built with 144 Sharp NU-U240F1 Solar Modules.


Client Response

Vons Credit Union received the LEED accreditation that they were seeking. Their solar output exceeded the requirements. The system is also producing at above higher expectations and VCUs electricity bill was minimized.
